VOLUNTEERS IN SCHOOLS

Volunteers support our school environments in many ways. From parent advisory councils, special event support, lunch programs, graduation committees, and field trip supervision—volunteers are an important part of school teams.

Before anyone can volunteer in RETSD schools, they must complete:

  • A criminal record check (dated within the previous 12 months and valid for 2 years).
  • A child abuse registry check (dated within the previous 12 months and valid for 1 year).
  • Training, including Commit to Kids, and, if applicable, Respect in Sport.
  • The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) training video.

Completion of these checks and training helps to keep students safe and to ensure that volunteers have the right tools and knowledge to create safe and caring school environments.

If you want to volunteer at a school in RETSD, please contact the school for more information.
