Western Canada Trip
Early morning, September 14, saw seventeen intrepid explorers set out from KEC, along with three teachers. Their goal, to spend a week hiking and cycling the beautiful Canmore, Lake Louise and Banff areas. What proved to be an excellent adventure filled with physical fitness, cultural and geographical awareness along with leadership and team building, the time passed quickly.
One of our earlier lessons came from what is dubbed 'The Largest Tepee in North America', in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Students explored the site, discovering the rich Indigenous history in the area. After many, many highlights, the group was welcomed back by eager families and banners waving! (Interested families should watch for information about next year's outing coming shortly!)
