Day Cycle and Schedule

ÉMU operates on a 6-day cycle. Days are designated 1- 6 and do not follow the calendar days of the week. Each day consists of eight periods of approximately 35-40 minutes, two recess periods of 15 minutes, and one hour for lunch.  A full day cycle calendar and a calendar of events for the year will be sent home in September for your reference.

Students enter the school at the 8:20 and 12:15 bells.

Supervision begins  8:00

Entry bell   8:20

Opening exercises  8:27

Period 1  8:30-9:10

Period 2   9:10-9:45

AM recess  9:45-10:00

Period 3  10:00-10:40

Period 4  10:40-11:15

Kindergarten a.m. dismissal  11:10

Lunch  11:15-12:15

Period 5   12:15-12:55

Period 6  12:55-1:30

PM recess  1:30-1:45

Period 7   1:45-2:25

Period 8   2:25-3:00

Dismissal   3:00

Supervision of Students

Adult supervision of students is provided as follows:

Arrival at school   8:00-8:20

AM recess   9:45-10:00

Lunch break   11:15-12:15

PM recess   1:30-1:45

Bus supervision   3:00-3:15

Please DO NOT send your child to school before 8 a.m., as there are no supervisors on duty.
