School Start-Up 2026-2027

The first day of classes for students for the 2026-2027 school year is Wednesday, September 9th.  Grades 1-5 students and their families are invited to drop by the school Tuesday, September 8th between 3:00 - 5:30 PM to help their child find their new classroom, meet the teacher, and drop off school fees and supplies.  Kindergarten students start the year with staggered entry dates and times to help them adjust to full days at school; each Kindergarten family will be emailed their start dates and times individually. 

The school office will reopen Monday, August 31st at 8:30 AM.  If your address has changed over summer and you need to register a child, please ensure your new address is in Westview's catchment area by using RETSD's School Locator (link below), as Westview is closed to School of Choice.  The 2026-2027 registration can be found under Documents & Forms; complete the registration in its entirety and bring it in person to the school office during business hours along with TWO pieces of ID as proof of address and ONE piece of ID as proof of your child's birthdate. Registrations cannot be processed without full ID. 

Be prepared to send your child to Meet the Teacher or on their first day with:  

• $50 for student fees; this will cover school supplies not mentioned below, payable by cash or cheque addressed to Westview School. If you require extra time to pay this fee, please contact the school office to make alternate payment arrangements. 
  Please note that starting this September, RETSD will offer the option to pay student fees online using credit card at an additional fee of 4.5% + $0.10 per transaction. 
• A backpack  
• Two large boxes of Kleenex
• A pair of NON-MARKING indoor shoes that stay at school, labelled with the student’s name  
• Grades 1-2: a full change of clothes, including socks and underwear, in a small labelled bag to be kept in the classroom  
• Two healthy nut-free snacks every day – one for morning and one for afternoon  
• Lunch (Students enrolled in the Westview Lunch Program must bring their own lunch)  

Westview Lunch Program charges $1.40/day per student to cover the cost of the lunch supervisors hired to monitor our students at lunchtime.  Registration forms will be sent home the first week of school.
