Be Part of Transcona History by Naming Our New School

In partnership with the Province of Manitoba, RETSD is building a new Kindergarten to Grade 8 school in the Devonshire area of Transcona.
As construction begins, we are inviting members of the community to become part of Transcona history by helping to come up with an original name for the new school.
The Board of Trustees has formed a Naming Ad-Hoc Committee that is tasked with reviewing submissions and making a recommendation to the Board based on Policy FFA-R1.
Names may be based on:
- Neighbourhood or geographical area where the school is located.
- A name of a historical or cultural significance to the community.
- A name reflecting the unique program focus in the school.
- The name of an individual from the community who has made an outstanding contribution to education, community life, or society. Names of individuals should only be used posthumously (must be deceased for at least 10 years).
Names that will not be considered:
- Those that are considered discriminatory, offensive, or inconsistent with divisional values.
- Duplicate names within the division or neighbouring divisions.
- Commercial references.
