Ukrainian Program Celebrates Easter & 45th Anniversary

Today, May 7, the English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program celebrated two very special occasions—Ukrainian Easter and the 45th anniversary of the program in River East Transcona School Division! Staff, students, and parents, along with trustees and senior administration, celebrated by enjoying their annual traditional breakfast, and were joined by former trustees, school administrators, and teachers.

The breakfast took place at Holy Eucharist Church this year, instead of a school, to accommodate the large number of people eager to break bread and visit with each other. Students performed songs and dances for the audience, and then everyone enjoyed eggs, paska, kovbasa, fruit, and other delicious treats.

RETSD offers the English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program at Prince Edward School for kindergarten to Grade 5 and Chief Peguis Middle School for Grades 6 to 8.
