John G. Stewart School
Some John G. Stewart School students used their creative talents to make a gift for Mayor Brian Bowman, and it earned them a special visit to the mayor's office on April 6.
The students put in many hours carving the plaque, made of laminated pine, with the help of educational assistant Robert Unik. It depicts Winnipeg's city crest.
John G. Stewart students have carved many beautiful plaques over the years, including one of the Winnipeg Police Service logo that now hangs in their new headquarters, and logos for the Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
We're very proud of their carving skills. Well done!
